Richard Morris is a Senior Advisor at SpaceX. He previously served as SpaceX’s Vice President of Launch & Production. As VP, Richard oversaw launch operations for Falcon and Dragon across SpaceX’s launch sites in Florida and California, as well as Falcon and Dragon vehicle production in California and Ship production at Starbase, Texas. Richard helped pave the way for normalizing space flight by guiding the launch/production team to 100 launches per year; something never done before in the industry. He and his team were also responsible for flying 36 astronauts into earth orbit and to the International Space Station. As Senior Advisor, Richard continues to help guide operations and develop the next generation of leaders that will take us to Mars.

Prior to joining SpaceX, Richard was the Vice President of Assembly for BMW Group in Spartanburg, SC. He worked at BMW for over 23 years and led multiple plant expansions and vehicle introductions. He was the Plant Project Leader for the second generation X5, where he lived and worked in Germany with his family. Richard was one of few Senior Vice Presidents (OFK) within the BMW Group and led vehicle introduction projects in China and South Africa.

Richard is a member of the President’s Industry Council at Clemson University and also a member of the MBA Executive Board at Clemson University.

Richard has his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan and his MBA from Clemson University in South Carolina. Richard is married to his wife, Meri, of almost 28 years. They have twins Connor and Camille (both Clemson Graduates).
