The National Retail Federation (NRF) has released its 2024 list of the Top 100 Retailers, ranking companies by domestic sales. Compiled by Kantar, the list highlights the largest players in the retail industry, reflecting a return to normal post-pandemic consumer spending trends.
Notably, eight home improvement companies made the list, emphasizing the sector’s strong market presence:
- The Home Depot (#5): $150.7 billion
- Lowe’s Companies (#9): $84.0 billion
- Ace Hardware (#21): $27.5 billion
- Tractor Supply Co. (#33): $14.6 billion
- Menards (#35): $13.1 billion
- Sherwin-Williams (#41): $13.4 billion
- Harbor Freight Tools (#62): $7.0 billion
- True Value Co. (#75): $6.0 billion
Harbor Freight Tools, which climbed 18 spots from 2023, is recognized as the fastest-expanding retailer on the list, with an 8.5% increase in store count.
The presence of these companies on the NRF list underscores the importance of convenience and value in today’s retail landscape, as consumer spending continues to moderate.
